3 Super Easy Halloween Treats

Halloween Treats | Hip n Creative

What’s up guys!  Today I wanted to share with you 3 awesome Halloween Treats.  These treats are great for Halloween Parties or if you just want to give spooky treats for your kids.  I had so much fun creative this for my girls and they loved eating them!

Hip 'n Creative | Halloween Treats

The first treat I share with you are these Bloody Bandages.  What you will need for this recipe is:

  • Graham Crackers
  • Vanilla Icing (or if you prefer you can use Marshmallow fluff)
  • Red Food Coloring
  • Corn Syrup

Ok so the first thing your gonna do is snap the graham crackers in half then in half again (use the lines on the crackers as a guide).  Next, your going to add a dab of the vanilla icing to the center of the cracker.  Last you add the “blood”.  To make the blood you just need a few ounces of corn syrup and red food coloring.  Mix it together and that’s it!  You have your blood.

To make the Mummy Cookies, you will need:

  • Milano Cookies
  • White Chocolate Morsels
  • Black Gel Food Coloring

To make these super easy Mummy Cookies: First your going to melt your chocolates.  Next your going to take you cookies and dunk them in the chocolate and lay them on wax paper.  Allow the cookies to dry a bit before adding your eyes with the gel food coloring.  Last  drizzle the rest of the melted chocolate in a zig zag pattern and you’re done!  Boom!

The final treat is the Screaming Pretzels.  You will need some:

  • melting chocolates
  • pretzels
  • candy eyes

Just like you did for the mummy pretzels.  You’ll melt your chocolate in the microwave.  Next dip your pretzels in the chocolate and lightly shake off the excess.  And last with your utensil add a dab of chocolate to the pockets of the pretzels and add your eyes.  That’s it, you are done!!

If you get a chance to make any or all of these treats, share them with me on Instragram @hipncreative.  It would make me so happy to see your work.  I also created a youtube video showing you step by step so head on over there and check it out!  If you haven’t done so yet subscribe!  That way you’ll be notified of future videos I post!

Sharing is caring, so if you love my videos, which I know you do!   Share with your friends!  I appreciate your support and this will help me create new content for you!

Until next time my friends!

Our Family Halloween Tradition

Our family is big on tradition.  We have them for big Holiday events like Christmas and New Years and for other important days like birthdays and our anniversary.   One of the things we do on Halloween Day is to watch Halloween Movies.

One of our Favorite movies to watch Hocus Pocus  “I put a spell on you….” :

Another fun movie that will be added to our movie watching tradition is  Hotel Transylvania.  My youngest loves this movie and I think it’s cute 😉  “I do not go blah blah blah! -Dracula”  lol

Halloween wouldn’t be the same without Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas:

And yes, It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown makes his annual appearance as well.

After watching our movies, we have some fun with Halloween themed music, crafts and games.   Music we listen to:

Thriller – Michael Jackson
Monster Mash – Boby “Boris” Pickett
Nightmare on My Street – DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince
The Time Warp – Rocky Horror Picture Show
Ghost Buster – Ray Parket Jr.

We even munch on some Halloween named goodies for lunch ie: Brains and Guts (spaghetti & meatballs).  This year I’m thinking of trying something different:  Mummy Hot Dogs,  Monster Munch Pizza and Cheese Cresent Ghost… It looks to cute!

Some fun crafts for the kids… Leaf Ghosts,  Oogie Boogie and Jack Skellington .  🙂

Then we get the kids ready and were off  to trick or treat.    After our outing, we head back home so the kids can relax.  We end the night with Tan and I watching classic movies ’til we pass out while the kids go to bed.  What about you?  Do you have a Halloween Tradition you’d like to share?

Halloween Pinspiration

I absolutely love Halloween!  It’s the one time of year where we can let our alter egos out.   The same thought  goes for our home and decor.   Over the years my taste have changed immensely.  As a young adult {early 20s} I was totally enamored with all things scary.  I absolutely loved all things creepy and gory!  Now that I’m in my 30s.  I am definitely drawn to the more polished Halloween Glam look.  I love how clean everything looks…. sigh   Being that we are currently between homes, I can only slightly decorate my very cramped apartment.  But that doesn’t meant that I can’t pin all the beautiful Halloween inspirations I see in Blog Land!

I am in LOVE with this beautiful Candy Corn Wreath from Whipberry:

This Halloween Chair Banner from DIYnetwork is to ‘die’ for (yeah I went there):

How about this fun Black and White Halloween decor from Making the World Cuter:
