How to Organize Under the Kitchen Sink | Clean with Me 2019

Ok confession time:  I am not a naturally organized person.  I struggle with finding ways to keep my home organized, especially my kitchen and bathroom.  For me organizing those two spaces are big challenges.  So I decided to get down and tackle these spaces.  I started with under the kitchen sink and to be honest I was not too thrilled with how messy it was.  I’m a little embarrassed to even show you how messy it was.  Here is a before photo so you can see what I’m working with: Continue reading

Happy Monday Guys!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend with your loved ones or sitting on the couch watching your favorite Holiday Movie!  I cannot believe we are in December!  TIME IS JUST FLYING BY!  It blows my mind how quick this season is coming up!  I mean in just 22 days it will be Christmas!  I am excited by this because it means I get to spend more time with my family and do all sorts of fun Christmas-y things!

And since I shared with you guys a Holiday Gift Guide for Him I thought I’d share a Gift Guide for Her as well.  Again these are in no particular order.. I just wanted to share some fun things with my friends to help inspire you this Holiday Season.  Enjoy:

Now to be honest I had some of these gift ideas in mind for myself but they would make a great gift for any woman in your life!

COZY OVERSIZED SWEATER –  I love me a nice cozy sweater but I hate how some are too high at the neck (I overheat easily) so I wanted to share OVERsized sweaters I would love (hint hint to the Hubs).  I really love these soft sweaters from American Eagle.  I was at the mall the other day with my daughter Alyssa and we happened to enter this store and felt them and Oh my Gosh are they soft!  I added them to my Christmas wish list as soon as I got a change 😀  I love them

BOOTIES – I love me a cute set of booties.  Pair them with your favorite jeans or leggings and a nice top and you are good to go.  This pair here from American Eagle are my definite style and I want them so bad.  Seriously.

SLIPPERS – I got these slippers for my oldest daughter a while back and she loves it!  She wears them every chance she gets.  I have to admit that when I tried on a pair myself and I thought they were so comfortable and I regret not getting myself a pair almost daily. And at $20 dollars a pair they are way nice and affordable!

CUTE MUG – I’m not a coffee drinker, but I really do love me a cute mug.  My sister in law got me (and my sisters) this Grinch mug and I love it.  So cute and festive with a dash of sass!  Although I don’t drink coffee I use my mug for my cocoa and other drinks.  So stinkin’ cute!

LEGGINGS – I love me a good pair of leggings.  When I do find a pair I like, I practically live in them.  I always get more than one pair and these here are a pair I have been wanting and I think it makes a perfect gift (for me 😜 )

Gift Cards
Lip Balm
Lotion or Body Kit

Our DIY Kitchen Renovation Project Week 1

Hey my wonderful friends!  I hope your doing fabulous on this wonderful fall day!  Me not too shabby!  This week has been a very busy and productive week for us here at Casa de HNC!  We had some errands to run, kids are enjoying their after school activities and we have started our DIY Kitchen Renovation!

Now I have to admit that this is a project that we’ve been wanting to start for over a year now but had to put it off until now.  I’m glad we did because it helped us to decide on the style, colors and design of our kitchen. Continue reading

How to Renovate Old Doors for UNDER $20 | Hip ‘n Creative

Hey friends, I hope you’re all doing well this beautiful Monday!  Today I’m sharing how we turned our hold doors into a fresh modern door with just a few simple tools.  I have to be honest and say that this project was easy and cheap.  Especially since we had most of the tools on hand.

You will need…

  • Paint of your choice
  • paint brushes
  • Trim
  • Liquid nails
  • spray paint of your choice – for the hardware

On hand/Optional

  • Sander (optional)
  • finishing nail (optional)
  • clamps or painters tape to hold down the trim while they dry
  • horses or a stand for the the door to rest on

The first thing I did (after taking down my door) was to remove the hinges and door knob then sanded it down.  This is totally optional, I did it because the doors we had had a lot of bumps and scratches and this would help us to paint without too much showing through.

Once we sanded the doors, we then proceeded with our first layer of paint.  We then measured how we wanted our trim to look.  This trim we bought was from Home Depot and cost about $1.29/sq. foot.  We bought four 8 foot pieces which was enough for us to use on 2 doors.  We measured about 6 inches from the top of the door.  My wonderful husband then helped with the cutting of the trim.  (because I’m totally a chicken when it comes to big machines lol).

We added some liquid nails to the back of the cut trim and held them in place with clamps.  Since our doors are a bit warped we decided to add some finishing nails to keep them in place.  (We were concerned that the trim would fall off in the future)  We also added some caulk to fill in any gaps that were showing from the door and trim.

We finished off the door with a second coat of paint.  We also spray painted our hardware with some matte black spray paint.  I absolute love it and thinks the doors look way better than before.  I managed to video tape some of the painting process and have it below.  If you haven’t done so yet you should head over to my Youtube channel.  I post new videos every week and it would mean so much to me to have you there.
