Spring is here and it’s the perfect time to do some Outdoor Spring Cleaning and Decorating. And since your front porch is the very first thing guests see when viewing your home it’s important to make a great first impression.

I really love creating a serene place to read or enjoy the outdoors without it costing a ton. So I have compiled a list of Outdoor Decorating Ideas that will wow your friends, family and neighbors alike.

It has been a tad bit cold and rainy here and so far only we’ve only had 1 or 2 warm weather days, but I still love decorating my front porch. One of the many ways I decorate my front porch is with flowers. You can spruce up any spot with a colorful flower pot and some beautiful annuals.

1. Add Flowers

Not just any flowers my tip here is to research before the beginning of any season and plant flowers that will look beautiful and last. In the beginning of spring plant flowers that will bloom but just keep in mind that they only bloom in the spring and by summer you’ll be left with just the greenery, which looks beautiful.

2. Add some Decor

I love this Wooden Porch Sign. Such a fun and inexpensive way to elevate your front entrance.

I’m a sucker for lanterns and have way too many in my house. They just elevate the look of a space and you can add flowers, fairy lights or candles and they look fabulous.

4. Add Wreaths

Adding wreaths to your door is such a cute and easy way to bring warmth to any front door.

5. Add Area Rugs

6. Garden Lights

7. Decorative Pillows

8. Add a DIY Address Sign

My husband and I recently DIY’d our own Address Sign. You can check out our Youtube Video Here.

9. Hang Wall Decor

Using your vertical space is a great way to add interest to your porch without losing space. You can use clips for siding or use 3m hooks for flat surfaces.

10. Use thrift finds

You can repurpose old home decor or thrift store finds on your porch as long as you have them safely covered and protected from the weather. You can use old milk jugs, vases, urns, brass decor etc.

11. Add a Unique Doormat

I love to change out my doormat with fun variations for different seasons. A great DIY project is to buy a blank door mat and use paint and a stencil.

12. Fun Porch Swing

Porch swings are such a great way to add visual appeal and function to small porch spaces.

13. Add a Pop of Color

If you’re feeling brave you can head over to your local hardware store and purchase paint. You can paint your door or grab some spray paint and old home decor items you have around your home and spray paint them and give them new life on your front porch.

14. Egg Chair

I love Egg Chairs, they are so fun to sit in and relax while a cool breeze blows on a porch.

15. Wash Your Entrance

This is a bit obvious but if you don’t clean your front porch often it can start to look a bit dull and worn. Cleaning your front porch of cobwebs, spiderwebs, dust, debris, etc can really improve the look of your front porch. It also helps to maintain your home for longer life. I recommend power-washing your from every other year or so to give it a good deep clean.

16. Remove Weeds

I have to admit this is one task I hate doing. It just gives me the ick to have to remove weeds from my lawn. But the other day my husband purchased a weed puller and I wish we would of purchased it sooner. In a matter of a few hours hubby was able to clear out all the weeds in our front lawn and backyard. I didn’t realize how many weeds we had until this baby was purchased lol. I recommend this for sure!

17. DIY Storage Container

One of the best hacks to try for your front porch is to DIY a potted plant and a pizza pan container into a side table that doubles as a storage container as well. You can use it to store sport balls, gardening tools, garden games, etc.
