Family Movie Night
My family and I love watching movies. Tan and I don’t really have a lot of time to dedicate to watching movies, but we try our best to know of upcoming movies that excite us and plan to take our kids to see. However, for the past 2 1/2 weeks I’ve been pretty much bed ridden and couldn’t do anything but watch tv/movies. During the day while Tan is at work, I had my youngest with me and I’d set us up with a few Disney favorites and we’d watch the disney channel as well as Sesame Street. I would manage as best as I could to make us lunch and pick up my kids from school. It was hard but we gotta do what we gotta do. Once my other two kiddos arrive from school, we’d do homework and reading (each one picks what they want to read to me or to themselves) Then we watch a movie. At that time Tan arrives from work and we have dinner. If Tan arrives early enough he’ll make dinner (God Bless Him he was wonderful through all my pain) or he’ll pick up some fast food usually something healthy -unless I ask for pizza, then all bets are off 😉
I try my best to stick to a regular routine at home, but since I’ve been in so much pain I decided to focus on my little one’s book learnin’ and keep her mind focused. She loves all the extra attention I’ve been giving her and wishes I get better but continue my attentions on her.
Since movies are something my family and I love to watch. We usually plan to sit together at the theaters (or the Drive-In, when open) and watch a movie. We usually take turn picking a movie that we’d like to watch and then we have a family fun day. Family Fun Days are usually a matinee movie, lunch, some light shopping, then back home to play board games or visit family whenever possible. We usually try to have a Family Fun Day outing once a month or every other month. Usually when it’s movie we are really excited about, we plan ahead of time to make sure we see that movie.
One of the movies I’ve been wanting to see is Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. Synopsis: Sean Anderson partners with his mom’s boyfriend on a mission to find his grandfather, who is thought to be missing on a mythical island. It stars Dwayne Johnson, Michael Caine and John Hutcherson. I have to say I really can’t wait to take the kids to see this movie. It looks to be a fun and exciting. Plus I have a huge crush on Dwayne Johnson so it’s a win win for me 😉
Another movie I think is going to be fun is Brave. Synopsis: Determined to make her own path in life, Princess Merida defies a custom that brings chaos to her kingdom. Granted one wish, Merida must rely on her bravery and her archery skills to undo a beastly curse. When Tan and I saw the trailer for this movie a few months ago, we knew this was going to be a must watch movie. It stars Emma Thompson, Kelly MacDonald and Kevin McKidd. I have to admit the curly little red head immediately had me thinking of my own little curly headed princess 😉
The third movie I’m excited about is Snow White & the Huntsman. Synopsis: In a twist to the fairy tale, the Huntsman ordered to take Snow White into the woods to be killed winds up becoming her protector and mentor in a quest to vanquish the Evil Queen. It stars the beautiful Charlize Theron as the evil Queen, Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth. I have to say Charlize as the evil queen is fantastic! It’s going to be very interesting to see how she portrays that character.
The final movie I’m absolutely crazy about is Dark Shadows. Synopsis: A gothic-horror tale centering on the life of vampire Barnabas Collins and his run-ins with various monsters, witches, werewolves and ghosts. Based on the cult TV series. It stars the very talented and very HANDSOME Johnny Depp. I have been in LOVE with Mr. Depp since he was on 21Jump Street! Yes that long ago. I remember watching the show and my eyes were glued to the tv screen when ever he came on. When they later added that character Rico I was crushed! I realized that Johnny’s screen time was lessening. Luckily he has become a wonderfully talented actor that has been blessed to star in many many movies.
Sadly there are no movie posters or trailers of the movie as of yet 🙁 So here’s one of him as Sweeny Tood
Well there you have in folks 4 up coming movies I’m very excited to see. I hope they live up to my expectations. Maybe soon after I can add them to my growing movie library! What about you.. are there any upcoming movies that you’d like to see?~
