Hello my wonderful friends! What a crazy time we’re living in! I hope you are all doing well. I wanted to take this time to reach out to you and let you know that you are not alone! My thoughts and prayers are with you as we collectively try to figure out what to do since the COVID-19 out break. I know there are a lot of people affected financially, emotionally and physically by this pandemic. My heart goes out to everyone struggling right now.

I decided to write this post as my small way to bring entertainment and joy to you during this difficult time. Everyone is being affected and I hope to do my part to bring happiness.

If you’re like us and are practicing social distancing or quarantine, then you’re probrably trying to come up with creative things you can do with your family (or on your own) to help with boredom.

Here I have created a list of things you can do that may help with boredom:

  1. Create an at home workout routine. Since we have plenty of time on our hands, this is the perfect time to get yourself a quick routine to get your heart pumping. YouTube is a perfect source for at home workouts. I personally love this video and do it once or twice a week with the fam. So fun!
  2. Go for a walk. My husband goes on daily walks with our dog Oakley and I have joined their routine. It feels great to go out and stretch our legs for 45 minutes. We definitely practice social distancing and also wash our hands thoroughly when we get home.
  3. Play board games. My family and I are really big board game players. We have about 30 board games we play and they range from Jenga to Monopoly and even some cards too. Uno anyone?
  4. Clean/Organize a space in your home. Yesterday I purged, organized and cleaned my storage closet located in my family room, which was something I’ve been putting off for some time but I’m so glad I finally got it done! It made me feel great and energized! Plus I have freed up space for any future goodies I may purchase.
  5. Get Yo Craft On! If you are a crafty person and have a stash of goodies, then this is the perfect relaxing and entertaining way to pass the time. You can definitely make a few home decor items or maybe something special for a loved one? If you’re in need of some inspiration, you can head on over to my DIY?Craft page or YouTube channel here.
  6. Catch up on your reading. If you love reading then this one is a no brainer, grab your favorite drink, snuggle up on the couch and read. You can also read your favorite blog or download some books.
  7. Clean outside. I know we are all practicing social distancing and there are some areas under quarantine, if you are able to go outside and trim the bushes, mow your lawn, clean your patio and even decorate it a bit. It will help you feel good to get out for a little bit and see the sun, have some fresh air in your lungs. You can do all this while maintaining social distancing.
  8. Clear out your inbox. If you’re like me then you may have about 9,786,451 emails that are begging for you to read them. This is a great opportunity to purge any emails you haven’t read and delete any old messages clogging your space and organize your important messages. So purge away!
  9. Start a new project based on your supplies at home. We always have a project or two that we’re working on and before the COVID-19 virus appeared, we were planning on painting our kitchen as well as giving our main bathroom a makeover. We are still planning on working on these projects and lucky for us we already have a lot of the items needed (ie. paint, tape, wood).
  10. Play video games. I think it’s a fun way to destress by allowing yourself a few moments on the game console. My oldest daughter has the Nintendo Switch and she loaned it to us to play as a family. We also have an XboxOne. Great to pass the time. I have to be honest though my gaming skills are lacking in this department lol.
  11. Catch up on your To Do List. My to-do list is about a mile long and I add to it on a daily basis. I have things ranging from cleaning out my bedroom to purging everything in house. Best thing to do is take your time and allow about 20-30 minutes per chore. Play your favorite music or listen to you podcast and get to it.
  12. Start a YouTube Channel, IGTV or Blog. If you have been thinking about starting a YouTube Channel or Blog, this is the best time to do it. There are plenty of people stuck at home trying to find something do entertain them. Just be your authentic self, share what you know or learned and remember that it may take a while before you gain a following. Good Luck!

I hope this post has helped inspire you to find entertaining ways to fight the boredom of being home. Drop me a note in the comments below with any additional entertainment ideas. Please be safe and know that we are all in this together! God Bless and I’ll see you soon!
