The first treat I share with you are these Bloody Bandages.  What you will need for this recipe is:

  • Graham Crackers
  • Vanilla Icing (or if you prefer you can use Marshmallow fluff)
  • Red Food Coloring
  • Corn Syrup

Ok so the first thing your gonna do is snap the graham crackers in half then in half again (use the lines on the crackers as a guide).  Next, your going to add a dab of the vanilla icing to the center of the cracker.  Last you add the “blood”.  To make the blood you just need a few ounces of corn syrup and red food coloring.  Mix it together and that’s it!  You have your blood.

To make the Mummy Cookies, you will need:

  • Milano Cookies
  • White Chocolate Morsels
  • Black Gel Food Coloring

To make these super easy Mummy Cookies: First your going to melt your chocolates.  Next your going to take you cookies and dunk them in the chocolate and lay them on wax paper.  Allow the cookies to dry a bit before adding your eyes with the gel food coloring.  Last  drizzle the rest of the melted chocolate in a zig zag pattern and you’re done!  Boom!

The final treat is the Screaming Pretzels.  You will need some:

  • melting chocolates
  • pretzels
  • candy eyes

Just like you did for the mummy pretzels.  You’ll melt your chocolate in the microwave.  Next dip your pretzels in the chocolate and lightly shake off the excess.  And last with your utensil add a dab of chocolate to the pockets of the pretzels and add your eyes.  That’s it, you are done!!

Halloween Monster Eye Treats Recipe

Halloween Monster TreatsHalloween is just a few weeks away and here at casa de HNC we are on full Halloween mode!  One of my favorite things to do is watch halloween themed movies with my family.  While we watch our movies we also have some fun Halloween themed snacks.  One of the snacks I made this year was the ‘spooky’ Halloween Monster Eye Treats.  This is a super fun and super easy recipe and the kids loved it!

For this recipe you will need the following:

  • Pudding Mix
  • Milk (for pudding mix)
  • Nilla wafers
  • crushed oreos
  • Mini oreos – split in half
  • White Chocolate Chips
  • Gummy Worms (optional)

First thing we need to do is in a microwave, melt chocolate chips for about 30 seconds or until soft.  Next, dip your Nilla wafers onto the melted chocolate and set on a wax paper, adding half of the mini oreos per wafer.  Once you have your desired amount, set aside in the freezer for about 15 minutes.

While waiting for the eyes to set, prepare pudding mix according to package directions.  Mine called for 3 cups of milk and a box of pudding mix.  Whisk together until combined and set aside.

Next I drizzled melted chocolate on the rim of my glass (you can use plastic cups) and dipped the rim on the crushed oreos making a rim of oreos (yum!)  I also added some crushed oreos to the bottom of my glass for added texture- I mean who wouldn’t like more oreos?  At this point I added some pudding and finished off with the rest of the crushed oreos, gummy worms and last the eyes.  That’s it!  Easy right??

This was such a fun and easy recipe!  If you get a chance to make these bad boys, make sure to tag me on instagram @hipncreative!  I would love to see your work, I get a kick out of it!

Pinterest Inspired 4th of July Treats

Pinterest Inspired 4th of July Treats

I cannot believe that July is just around the corner!  July is a special month for me not only because we celebrate our Independence Day here in America but it also happens to be my birthday month and wedding Anniversary!  So in celebration of the coming month I put together three super easy Pinterest Inspired 4th of July treats!

Cherry Bomb

4th of July Cherry Bombs

Ingredients Needed:

  • Maraschino Cherries
  • White Candy Melts or White Chocolate Morsels
  • Blue Sprinkles or sugars

Melt your chocolate according to package directions.  Drain and pat your cherries dry then, dipped in the melted chocolate,  dip/rotate into sprinkles, transfer it to wax paper and that’s it!  Easy right?

Chocolate Covered Oreos

4th of July Oreos

  • 12 oreos
  • white chocolate melts
  • red chocolate melts
  • blue chocolate melts
  • Oreo candy Mold (available in most crafts stores or online)

Melt your chocolate according to package directions, then pour some of the melted chocolate onto the oreo mold. Next, gently push the oreos in allowing the candy to rise around the oreo. Add some more chocolate anywhere the oreo is exposed. Place them in the refrigerator until firm for about 15 – 20 minutes. Next place some melted chocolate in a sandwich bag and melt according to directions. Snip the top of the sandwich bag and drizzle onto oreos in a zig zag pattern (or you can spoon drizzle the chocolate). Refrigerate to firm the chocolate and that’s it all done!

4th of July CakeRed, White & Blue Cake

  • White Cake Mix (water, vegetable oil and eggs called for in the box )
  • (1) 12oz. can White Frosting
  • Blue Food Coloring
  • Red Food Coloring

Heat the oven for 350◦F.  Grease a bundt cake pan.  Make your cake according to package directions and divide the mix into three seperate bowls.  Add blue food coloring to one bowl and mixed to the desired color.  Then, add red food coloring to the second bowl and mix to the desired color.

Pour the red cake batter onto your greased pan.  Next, carefully pour the white cake mix over the the red making sure you don’t stir it.  Last pour the remainder of the blue batter onto the pan, again make sure not to stir.

Bake as directed on the box or until your toothpick inserted is clean.  Cool for 5 minutes.

Once your cake is completely cool, equally divide your frosting onto three separate bowls.  Use the food coloring again to make one bowl blue and the other red, leaving one white.  Microwave each bowl for a few seconds (I did 15 seconds) until it’s smooth enough to drizzle.  Then drizzle onto the cake!  That’s it!

No Bake Cheesecake

Oh my gosh you have to try this super easy No Bake Cheesecake recipe!  Not only is it easy to make and requires NO BAKING it also tastes good!  I mean really good!  I made some over the weekend and had my little minions taste them and they all loved it 🙂  Which is a win for me.  This recipe is for 12 mini cheesecake muffins.  Here is what you’ll need to make these bad boys yourself:

  • Graham Crackers (1 box)
  • 1 stick of butter (or 8oz of margarine)
  • 14 oz. of Marshmallow Fluff
  • 2 packages of cream cheese about 8oz. each
  • Cherry Pie Filling

Cheesecake Frosting

First let your cream cheese come to room temperature.  Once your cream cheese is ready, whip with marshmallow fluff and place in a piping bag (i used a sandwich bag) set aside.

Graham Cracker Crust

Grab your box of graham crackers (I actually used 2 packae -about 18 crackers rather than the whole box), using your food processor or mini processor, grind your crackers into crumbs (or you can whack them silly in a sandwich bag).  In a medium bowl, combine 1 stick of butter and cracker crumbs (until kind of sticky).

Next, pack your pie crust into your container -I used 7 oz. plastic cups I had available (but you can also use a muffin pan lined with cupcake liners.  You will need to ‘mush’ them down  (I used another cup wrapped in plastic wrap) until nice and tight.  Next snip your sandwich bag at the corner and pipe in your your cream cheese and finish off with with cherry pie filling.  Refrigerate overnight or for a about 4 hours.  Boom.. Done!  Easy Peasy right?  If you’re not fond of cherry pie fillings you can definitely substitute it with your favorite toppings.

I hope you enjoy this recipe, I will be adding more fun recipes I try.  If you have any suggestions, please leave me a comment and I will definitely give it a whirl!

Chocolate Covered Oreos Tutorial

This week I’m working on my daughter’s 4th Birthday party.  One of the treats I’m working on is Chocolate Covered Oreos.  Oh my gosh are these sooo easy to make!  I’ve been wanting to make something cute and special for her big day (of course, it’s what I do!)   So I decided to go with chocolate covered oreos YUM!.

Here is a list of what you will need:

*Chocolate/Candy Mold {found at here}
*Oreos {some people prefer double stuffed, but I used regular and they worked out fine}
*Soft Spatula or something flat
*Spoon {optional}
*Fridge space 😉

Step 1: Melt the candy mold in a double boiler (or candy melt or microwave)  follow instructions on the bag {easy to do}.  Please make sure you don’t over heat the candy molds.  It’ll get all dry and yucky.. not fun!

Step 2: Once the candy has melted fill the candy molds about 1/3 of the way.

Step 3: Take those yummy oreos and put them in the mold.  Make sure the press the oreos in a bit so the chocolate can kinda wrap itself around the oreos.  With a regular spoon pour some melted chocolate to cover up the rest of the oreo.

Make sure you tape the mold on the table a few times to let some of the air bubble out or you’ll get a lumpy oreo.  And if you have any excess chocolate you can level it with a spatula.

Step 4: Let the mold cool and harden then place in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes.  Take them out of the fridge and turn them over and gently push the back of the mold to pop the oreos out!

If you happen to get some excess candy {like I did} on the oreos you can lightly scrape them off with a knife.  It will help give the oreo a smooth professional look.

If you have any left over chocolate, grab yourself a ziploc or sandwhich bag, pour the cooled chocolate into the bag.  Snip a corner of the bag just enough to drizzle a zig-zag pattern on the oreo. Like so:

That’s it!  Now all you have to do is keep yourself from eating all the yummy oreo treats!~
